The Walk
Specs: 2.5-meter diameter sphere comprising 5000 pixels with a total of 35,000 LED’s. The sphere is both, an object and a spherical screen showing a 7.5 minute long video loop.
The intense red glow of the light reveals itself in a rich spectrum of colour and intensity. The spherical shape and the interplay of light and colour give the impression of a rotating planet. Inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy, particularly the journey from Inferno to Paradise, a visual journey emerges that evokes a sense of catharsis. The installation makes the transition between hell and paradise palpable, with flames and figures carrying torches appearing as an endless procession.
The Walk invites the viewer to step onto the circular path, where light and dark alternate. Walking around the work alters not only one’s perception but also the experience of the space itself. The visitor is thus carried away on an endless journey between light and dark.

The Walk
De intense rode gloed van het licht onthult zich in een rijke schakering aan kleur en intensiteit. De bolvorm en de dynamiek van licht en kleur geven de indruk van een roterende planeet. Geïnspireerd door Dante’s Goddelijke Komedie, met name de reis van Inferno naar Paradijs, ontstaat een visuele reis die een gevoel van catharsis oproept. Het beeld maakt de overgang tussen hel en paradijs voelbaar, waarbij vlammen en figuren met fakkels verschijnen als een eindeloze optocht.
The Walk nodigt de toeschouwer uit om het cirkelvormige pad te betreden, waarin licht en donker elkaar afwisselen. Door om het werk heen te lopen, verandert niet alleen de waarneming, maar ook de ervaring van de ruimte zelf.
De bezoeker wordt zo meegevoerd op een oneindige reis tussen licht en donker.
