Amidst a constantly changing urban landscape, this modest monument stands as an anchor in time. House of Belonging approaches ‘coming home’ not as a fixed place, but as an experience that evolves in relation to the surroundings and the people around us.

At the heart of the installation is a solar eclipse: a dark centre, surrounded by a ring of light. Darkness is not an absence, but an essential quality: light and darkness exist by virtue of one another and together form a greater whole. The image reflects our place in the natural world and the rhythms that surround us.

Coming home turns out not to be a physical location, but a sense of connection: with one another and with the flow of time.

Te midden van een continu veranderend stadslandschap staat dit bescheiden monument als een ankerpunt in de tijd. House of Belonging benadert thuiskomen niet als een vaste plaats, maar als een ervaring die groeit in relatie tot de omgeving en de mensen om ons heen.

Centraal in de installatie staat een zonsverduistering: een donker hart, omringd door een ring van licht. Donker is niet afwezigheid, maar een essentiële waarde: licht en donker bestaan bij de gratie van elkaar en vormen samen een groter geheel. Het beeld weerspiegelt onze plek in de natuurlijke wereld en de ritmes die ons omringen.

Thuiskomen blijkt geen fysieke locatie te zijn, maar een gevoel van verbondenheid: met elkaar en met de stroom van de tijd.
