With its mystery, history, nature and symbolism, the native rabbit is the perfect bearer for the centuries-long intertwining of man and beast in Heemskerk in the Netherlands. She symbolizes the continuity of existence. It is a landmark in the scenery and a beacon of the existence of man and animal in its wetlands.
The design concerns a rabbit-shaped outer shape, divided into steel smooth discs of stainless steel with printed 'vertebrae' of recycled 3D printed polycarbonate. These intervertebral are transparent tubes in which LED is incorporated. Film recordings of waves, shot at various locations, including the sea nearby, alternate with each other, rippling, rough or with a reflection in the water.
Bunny Lights is always in motion and evolves in different directions at the same time, location, time, space and user flow richly into one another. The landscape of our memory, our personal interpretations and finding an anchor point together provide the scenery for a new landscape and new stories.

Het inheemse konijn is met zijn mysterie, geschiedenis, natuur en symboliek de perfecte drager voor de eeuwenlange verstrengeling tussen mens en dier in Heemskerk. Ze symboliseert de continuïteit van het bestaan. Een baken in het landschap en het heem-zijn van mens en dier in haar waterrijke omgeving.
Het ontwerp betreft een buitenvorm van een konijn, opgedeeld in stalen gladde schijven van RVS met geprinte ‘wervels’ van gerecycled 3D geprint polycarbonaat. Deze tussenwervels zijn transparante kokers waar LED in is verwerkt. Filmopnames van golven, opgenomen op diverse plaatsen o.m. bij Wijk aan Zee, wisselen elkaar af, kabbelend, ruig of met reflectie in het water.
Bunny Lights is altijd in beweging en evolueert in verschillende richtingen op hetzelfde moment, locatie, tijd, ruimte en gebruiker vloeien rijkelijk in elkaar over. Het landschap van ons geheugen, onze persoonlijke interpretaties en het vinden van een ankerpunt vormen samen de context voor een nieuw landschap en nieuwe verhalen.
