Flower from the Universe
The relationship between humans and plants is at the heart of Flower from the Universe: an interactive light flower that hovers above the ground.
Using sensors, the flower registers the colours of visitors and blends them with those of others, visible in its petals. Each person present colours the flower in their own way; through encounter and collaboration, a constantly changing palette of colour and movement emerges.
At the heart of the flower lies a neuron: the human nerve cell that receives, processes and transmits stimuli. This is how Flower from the Universe works: it perceives its surroundings and responds with light. Visitor and artwork become intertwined, like two hearts beating in unison. Human and flower become each other’s mirror, each other’s echo.
Plants form the basis of our existence. They colour our world, fill our lungs with oxygen and nourish our bodies and minds. Flower from the Universe returns to the beginning: to the relationship between humans and plants, to wonder and to connection.

Flower from the Universe
De relatie tussen mens en plant staat centraal in Flower from the Universe: een interactieve lichtbloem die boven de grond zweeft.
Via sensoren registreert de bloem de kleuren van bezoekers en laat deze samensmelten met die van anderen, zichtbaar in haar bloembladen. Iedere aanwezige kleurt de bloem op een eigen manier; door ontmoeting en samenwerking ontstaat een voortdurend veranderend palet van kleur en beweging.
In het hart van de bloem bevindt zich een neuron: de menselijke zenuwcel die prikkels ontvangt, verwerkt en doorgeeft als een fluistering tussen binnen- en buitenwereld. Zo neemt ook Flower from the Universe haar omgeving waar en antwoordt met licht. Bezoeker en kunstwerk raken met elkaar verweven, als twee lichamen die zich afstemmen op hetzelfde ritme. Mens en bloem worden elkaars spiegel, elkaars echo — een dans van wederzijdse herkenning die verder reikt dan woorden.
De plant vormt de basis van ons bestaan. Zij kleurt onze wereld, vult onze longen met zuurstof en voedt zowel lichaam als geest. Flower from the Universe nodigt uit om terug te keren naar de fundamentele relatie tussen mens en plant — niet om haar te verklaren, maar om haar opnieuw te ervaren.
