The relationship between humans and plants is central to Flower from the Universe: an interactive light flower that hovers above the ground.
Using sensors, the flower detects visitors’ colours. These colours blend with those of others and appear in its petals. Each visitor contributes to the light display in their own way; through encounter and collaboration, a palette of colour and movement is created anew time and again.
At the heart of the flower lies a neuron: a symbol of connection and communication between the inner and outer worlds. Just as a nerve cell receives and transmits signals, Flower from the Universe perceives its surroundings and responds with light. Visitor and artwork become intertwined and attune themselves to the same rhythm. Human and flower become mirrors of one another — an encounter of mutual recognition that extends beyond words.
Plants form the basis of our existence. They sustain life, nourish our senses and connect us to the natural world. Flower from the Universe invites us to re-experience this relationship between humans and plants — not to explain it, but to make it tangible.
Flower from the Universum
De relatie tussen mens en plant staat centraal in Flower from the Universe: een interactieve lichtbloem die boven de grond zweeft.
Via sensoren registreert de bloem de kleuren van bezoekers. Deze kleuren vermengen zich met die van anderen en verschijnen in haar bloembladen. Iedere bezoeker draagt op een eigen manier bij aan het lichtbeeld; door ontmoeting en samenwerking ontstaat steeds opnieuw een palet van kleur en beweging.
In het hart van de bloem bevindt zich een neuron: een beeld voor verbinding en communicatie tussen binnen- en buitenwereld. Zoals een zenuwcel signalen ontvangt en doorgeeft, neemt Flower from the Universe haar omgeving waar en antwoordt zij met licht. Bezoeker en kunstwerk raken met elkaar verweven en stemmen zich af op hetzelfde ritme. Mens en bloem worden elkaars spiegel — een ontmoeting van wederzijdse herkenning die verder reikt dan woorden.
De plant vormt de basis van ons bestaan. Zij ondersteunt het leven, voedt onze zintuigen en verbindt ons met de natuurlijke wereld. Flower from the Universe nodigt uit om deze relatie tussen mens en plant opnieuw te ervaren — niet om haar te verklaren, maar om haar tastbaar te maken.
